Zeshan Qureshi Award for Outstanding Achievement in Medical Education - Rucira Ooi

Rucira is a final year medical student at Cardiff University with an interest in neonatology, paediatrics, obstetrics and gynaecology. Rucira founded Cardiff Healthcare International Perspectives (CHIPS) – a society designed to support and provide opportunities for international students and those wishing to pursue placements abroad.

“I am driven and passionate about learning and developing vital research expertise.”

As well as her work with CHIPS, Rucira helped to host Wales’ first National Surgical Conference, which allowed students to present research projects and participate in workshops and CV building stations. Rucira is also on the committee for Cardiff Women’s Health, Obstetrics and Gynaecology Society, through which she has helped deliver teaching at two acute obstetrics emergencies teaching sessions.
Well done on the great work, Rucira. Keep it up!
