Well done to Christien for being a runner up in the  ‘Zeshan Qureshi Award for Outstanding Achievement in Medical Education’.
Medical Education Award - Christien Li Ka Hou

Christien is a medical student at Newcastle University as well as being an off-site clinical researcher for the Chinese University of Hong Kong. He has an impressive CV of national and international presentations and publications and is also passionate about teaching and mentorship.

“I have a clear vision of the future of medical education and feel it is this foresight that has motivated me to push my ideas through”

Christien designed an international research mentorship programme to help junior medical students develop research skills through learning from their peers as well as senior researchers. He has also been involved in teaching revision sessions as well as getting medical students involved with group clinics: a novel approach to clinics whereby one or more clinicians see several patients together in the same room. He is also involved with the Medical Education Society at his University.
Christien is also developing a novel approach to teaching anatomy, with his 3D printing project, which involves creating life size plastic models of relevant anatomy and pathology.
