Well done to Kristen for being a runner up in the  ‘Zeshan Qureshi Award for Outstanding Achievement in Medical Education’.
Medical Education Award - Kristen Davies

Kristen is passionate about creating resources and providing opportunities to medical students.

“I have found being involved in various branches of medical education thoroughly enjoyable as a medical student. As a part of a relatively young medical school (Lancaster), I have had the opportunity to create and develop multiple medical education initiatives both locally and beyond.”

Kristen founded the Lancaster University Peer-Assisted Learning Society in his second year at medical school in order to provide medical students with resources and teaching sessions to aid with revision. The society has been a huge success, delivering over 150 teaching sessions since its inception and providing many medical students with the opportunity to teach their peers.
In addition, he has created a student-led question bank, written a ‘Short Answer Questions’ study guide and created an online resource for learning clinically relevant anatomy. He is now in the process of publishing a textbook for medical students revising for their finals.
Outside of his medical school, Kristen has worked with the Student BMJ, a large widening access initiative and is the Education Co-ordinator for the National Student Association for Medical Research.
I’m sure that the present and future students at Lancaster Medical School will be very grateful for all the work Kristen has done to improve medical education in the area.
